Looking for Temperature Sending Unit on MKIII
Can someone tell me where the temperature sending unit on a 74 with a 1275 engine is located? I can’t find it. I got bored working on the 78/1500 so I started digging into the 74/1275. Just got it...

A far as I know, the pipe is filled with Ether. Do a forum search. You can buy the assembly knew, but it cost a lot. They aren't hard to fix, just a owl full of ice, you fill the tube with either, the...

A '74 uses (from the factory) a mechanical gauge, not an electrical one. If you have an electric one in your '74 then you will need to use the diagram from a '75 and "wing it" BillM

If it's electric, it is an aftermarket gauge. The pipe hand a long spring wrapped around it. You should find evidence. I'd ask the shop what happened. My '73 looks like this new one, with the...

Well, that explains why the sending unit didn't show up in the schematic. Somewhere along the line the factory gauge was replaced with a Sunpro.

Well, that makes it easier, but the oil pressure water gauge combo sure looks nicer. :)

Mine is a '73 with a Round Real Wheel Arch. I like these the best, I find them more attractive. I know nothing of the 1500's though, they have never interested me. I like the dual gauge, one look and...

Regarding the name of the vehicle, Bev, your answer matches my information as well. Regarding the gauge type, it did not change at the same time as the 1500 engine, which started with the '75MY (which...

No backlash here. Now I know when someone refers to a MKIV Midget they mean a Midget 1500 and for all intents and purposes it's the same thing. My local British parts guy had the dual gauge on hand....

Happy you got that gauge. Now look for a Smith's Manifold Pressure Gauge. I found a brand new one for $50 bucks, and have had ridiculous offers for it, as they came stock in Shelby AC Cobras. That...
